Türkiye – Slovak Republic Political Relations

Türkiye was one of the first countries to recognize the independent Slovak Republic, following the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993. Bilateral relations between two countries are free from political disputes and maintain a friendly course. During the visit of the Prime Minister of Slovakia to Türkiye on 20 January 2025, bilateral relations were elevated to the level of strategic partnership.

Türkiye - Slovak Republic Economic Relations

Bilateral trade volume between Türkiye and Slovakia reached approximately 4.2 billion USD in 2025 (Source: Turkish Statistical Institute). Our exports were approximately 1.9 billion USD, while our imports were approximately 2.3 billion USD.

According to these figures, the main items that Türkiye exported to Slovakia were clothing and accessories, parts of motor vehicles, metal products, textiles, rubber and rubber products, machinery and devices, iron and steel. The main items imported from Slovakia were automotive and spare parts, rubber and rubber products, machinery and devices, sanitary ware, iron and steel, paper-cardboard and their products and volatile oils.

Türkiye is one of the leading tourism destinations for Slovak people. In 2025, 267,778 Slovak tourists visited our country. This figure was 274,047 for 2024 and 235,303 for 2023.
